NINA: On BOTT, I listen to this song and I find myself cowering and cringing, like crockery is flying at MY head-- I only hope that as the listener, I manage to duck all the projectiles by the time the singer's exhausted himself at the end. Then i hear this version on the bootleg--and--same song??--all I want to do is cover this poor wounded creature with tenderness and blankets and then pray for him to have one dreamless night. HUH?? This is the same song?? (May I say though, that the line in BOTT, "smoke pouring out of a boxcar door" is just one of those things that makes life worth living.) (05/18/05)
