SHAYNE: Love this track also, check out the Byrds version on Sweetheart of the Rodeo. (02/13/09)

BILL COHEN: This is a very catchy song of resolution. Dylan was up in Woodstock (Saugerties)NY reccuperating from a motorcycle accident. His wife Sara & the children were living in NYC at the time, and he was waiting for Sara to come up for the weekend. He says "Clouds so swift, rain won't lift,Gates won't close Railings froze - Get your mind of Wintertime- You ain't goin' nowhere. Whoo-ee, ride me high, Tomorrow's the day my brides gonna come Oh,oh we gonna fly down in the easy chair. This was a restful, but boring time for him, relieved only by visits from Sara, and some of the members of The Band that were up there with him. While in Saugerties he made two albums, Basement Tapes, and New Morning. The song is very upbeat, at a time when he was feeling just the opposite. Dylan is able to take all the ups and downs with a philosophical air. It is an excellent song. Catchy and fun to listen to - poking fun at a miserable situation. (01/19/07)
