Bob Dylan: "Lay Down Your Weary Tune" from the album "Biograph", 19856 comments on "Lay Down Your Weary Tune"![]() "Biograph", Track #16 DIANA: An under appreciated masterpiece. So spiritual; to me more so than his Christian music. I pick this one for my funeral and, yes, I mean that as a compliment. (09/15/09) RAMBLINSHOES: Just finished reading Suze Rotolo's book a Freewheelin time. When he wrote this song, he was in California staying with Joan Baez--his relationships with women overlap as he was still with Suze. In addition to the theme of music and nature, I hear him moving on to a new life different people and different places. (01/02/09) DENNIS: I read that Bob loves Elvis' version of this song. I've heard it. It's no "Hunk a hunk of burning love" but it's ok. (05/06/08) LARRY: Another underapprediated masterpiece. (05/05/07) KATE D.: The harmony of music and nature and the awe inspired by it are resplendent in this haunting and eloquent piece. The words could be the definition of beauty. (06/07/06) KEVIN BRIGGS: I vote a five for this one for the 60s version, not some 1985 remake. (02/24/06) |
