Bob Dylan: "Masters of War" from the album "The Bootleg Series Vol. 7 - No Direction Home: The Soundtrack", 2005Live at Town Hall, New York City, 4/12/1963 2 comments on "Masters of War"![]() "The Bootleg Series Vol. 7 - No Direction Home: The Soundtrack", Track #11 BILL COHEN: This song is the work of an old Prophet in the body of a young man. Nothing has changed. The masters of war have sent ytrained children to Iraq to fight a war against a country that was no threat to us. The construction of the war and the need therefore was built on lies and manipulation. Our good yoyng men and women are being slaughtered for nothing. The bastards of war have done it again. We read every day about a war that we are losing, young people dying and being maimed for life, and we should be proud. Every word in Dylan's song is true and horribly accurate. I fought in Korea, and now the N. Koreans have a mighty bomb that is aimed at us. We couldn't leave them alone. We could not leave Vietnam alone. and now the Mid East.. Our elected officials really screwed things up. I hope that God will intercede before we destroy the whole world. (06/19/06) KATE D.: Timeless, poignant, chilling, truth. (06/07/06) |
